When replacing a string on a compound bow, measure old string from tip to tip while on the bow. This is the actual stretched length to use. Some bows are marked with the AMO compound bow stretched string length.
When replacing a string on a straight or recurve bow, measure old string from tip to tip while on the bow. This is the actual stretched string length to use. If the bow is marked AMO BOW STRING LENGTH____, subtract 3 from the length for the proper actual string length to use.
WARNING: Never draw or shoot a bow if bowstring is badly frayed or has broken strands.Use safety glasses when shooting.
Excessive wear on serving could indicate a change in shooting form is necessary to reduce string impact on armguard. To prolong string life keep string well waxed.
